Wythenshawe Community Initiative was formerly known as Woodhouse Park Family Centre, and is still based in the building of that name.

Aim

We are a local community organisation aiming to provide a vibrant resource to enhance the lives of children, young people and families in Woodhouse Park in particular and Wythenshawe in general, by attempting to respond to needs identified by the community.

Our objectives are:

1. To support, enable and respond to children, young people and families both individually and in groups.

2. To provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and play in.

3. To enable people to have access to training relevant to their needs as volunteers, workers or committee members.

4. To actively involve local people in the management and operation of the organisation.

5. To enable people to respond to the lack of opportunities, resources and high level of need  in the area.

6. To network with other agencies and community groups active in the area.

7. To actively promote the employment of local people within the organisation.

8. To consider how to ensure the long term economic viability and sustainability of the organisation.
